Tim Hockenberry and The 559!

The 559 is a concept album that was realized and written by Tim Hockenberry and Elaine Culotti while both living in the Central Valley for 90 days in 2020. Holed up in Fresno, California, while his girlfriend was filming a television show for the Discovery Channel, Tim began the task of penning original songs that spoke to, not only the history and flavor of one of the most colorful and bountiful agricultural areas of the West Coast, but also to his new relationship. A romance that began in the throws of a worldwide pandemic as well as an unprecedented fire season in the state of California. Many of the songs are about the history of trains and railroads in the US as well as the plight of the American small farmer who has been struggling to stay above water for over a half a century. Tim’s girlfriend, Elaine Culotti, came up with an incredible idea to put a small farm food festival and a live music concert on a train. Enter The 559 Farm Train.
